Cordelia laid down with her eyes lifted up to the heavens. It has been a spiritually low time for her these past weeks. She has occupied herself with so many things that she actually ignored the reason why she was doing these things. She has lost sight of her king. These few weeks have been a time of hustling and bustling, with the preparation for the Sunday school camp and her holiday to Thailand. She was also mulling over some relationship problems. She went to the camp feeling unsure of what she was doing and how should she react to the problem. Yes, it was a problem. To her, a relationship should be something sweet, filled with heart-thumping action and not a problem to be solved. She, like many women of yore, believed that God made us the way we are—capable of a large range of emotions from sadness to the throes of happiness. She was a confident woman in the corporate arena, being able to handle thorny interpersonal issues and cut throat mergers and acquisitions, rarely not knowing what to do. This time she was stumped as he is a good friend of and though she like him at first and want to like him, her heart would not obey her head.
Cordelia sighed as she forced a smile at a comment made by a kid. She wanted out, wanted to go home. The last thing she wanted to do was to have a session where everyone was required to lie down and with soft music playing in the background, as they waited on God, for his Holy Spirit to rain down.
Tears started flowing the moment the session started. Tears of peace? It was as if a there was a force lifting up my burden. In her heart, she knew that she had met with God : Abide in me and I will abide in you. It was that simple. Cordelia smiled.
